Big Events (in sequential order):There about to destroy the baseball field (Doc owns the land and is selling it to builders). Then Doc says that if they win "The Big Game," then the field stays. Then a boy named Cruz comes in and claims he knows the secret to hitting. He helps them find legendary Dante Dal Gato, the famous baseball player (who becomes their coach), who abandoned the 1984 world series and caused the Padres to lose the series.
Solutions: Cruz disappears, but they win the game and the field stays. Then Doc dies and they find out that Tom inherits the field and Doc's land.
